Treatment of Al Doura Oil Refinery Wastewater Turbidity using Magnetic Flocculation

The use of conventional flocculants such as Aluminum sulphate (Alum) alone to treat the wastewater may be insufficient get required turbidity, suspended solids removal. It also requires relatively a long residence time. Magnetic flocculation is one techniques used for increasing efficiency turbidity In present study, three sets experiments are carried out in order investigate possibility solid removal from Al Doura oil refinery using iron oxide (Fe3O4), Nickel (Ni), and Cobalt (Co) ferromagnetic powders with alum. following operating conditions namely, pH, alum dose, powder initial studied. results revealed that an improvement satisfied, well as, reasonable reduction sedimentation period achieved. highest 99.88% obtained 122NTU sample dose 120 mg/L+ 80mg/L pH 6.5.
